Success Story: Opal C.

Opal C. was admitted to Clearwater Nursing and Rehab on 4/19/2019 for skilled rehab services. A customized rehabilitation program was implemented to address functional deficits related to the diagnosis of kidney stones.

Opal was a resident in the independent living homes in Clearwater, KS and had come to Clearwater Nursing and Rehab following an acute stay at the hospital for kidney stones. Opal was very weak and couldn’t tolerate the walking distances, or standing tolerance that she had prior to going to the hospital. She also needed help with transfers, cooking, and memory.

Opal received a plan of treatment for Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapies. Opal participated and worked hard with therapy to build strength to be able to return home with her spouse independently. As part of therapy, she successfully baked cookies for the staff and gave us her secret recipe!

After successfully completing the therapy program at Clearwater Nursing and Rehabilitation, Opal was discharged from Clearwater Nursing and Rehabilitation on 5/13/2019. We are very proud of her hard work and dedication to meet all her goals!
