Letter from the Administrator

Residents, families, and friends,

I wanted to take a moment to share what I know about SKT changes and how they will impact our community. SKT is the current provider of our cable TV. They have decided to discontinue cable channels in the current format and upgrade their technology to internet streaming. This means that in order to keep the services every resident would need internet in their room and would need a streaming device, such as a fire stick or other device, to make this new technology work. For the nursing home, we are looking into other options, such as satellite TV, that would allow the residents to receive close to the same channels they receive now and with minimal change to the manner they receive them. For the Village, we have a meeting scheduled for Tuesday 2/19/19 for SKT to come and talk with everyone about the changes and what options are available for continuing services. After this meeting, we will have a better understanding of the impact and will decide if we need to consider other options for the Village as well. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns regarding this. I will update everyone with more information as it becomes available.

Currently, Heather Stapleton, RN and I are helping to support the Village. We have had some changes in leadership. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at 620-584-2271 or by email to or

Just as a reminder, we are currently in flu season. In order to keep all of our residents healthy, we would ask that you not visit while you are sick, coughing, running a fever, etc. If you must visit, please utilize the supplies by our front doors. We have everything you need to help stop the spread of any germs during this time. Our community thanks you for your help and consideration!
